A website for book lovers and librarians
Welcome to The Book, My Friend. I started this website because many in my profession have been asking me for a resource where they can find and follow my explorations with econtent/technology. Forgive me if I post some non- academic stuff occasionally, but I have skateboarded for over 20 years and follow Gaming and Gaming culture as well.
However, this site is dedicated primarily to developments in technology. Specifically, I focus on the historic transition from physical to digital content formats. I was one of the first librarians in the world to circulate ereaders and developed a host of innovations around them. I hope to use this website to share my experiences and thoughts on how this change will affect libraries and what we can do about them. The name of the website comes from my love of the physical hardback book format. I love books, and the name is a sort of memorial to them. |
